We have an abundance of choices if you want to wet a line in Weipa. Along with the large river systems within just 150kms of the township, there are fresh and saltwater barra fisheries not two hours’ drive from your front door, monster trevally, queenfish, Spanish mackerel, and cobia of the highest quality being caught in the shipping channel right on our doorstep. Bottom feeders like fingermark, coral trout, nannygai, and red emperor a common occurrence in your esky.

One more example of our very diverse fishery is the abundance of marlin and sailfish close by in the gulf. We have the Tackle World Weipa charter boat operating between April and October, for bookings please contact us.
